I just had my first warning sign that I will soon pass a kidney stone. (Extreme sharp pain at the tip of my urethra.) This has me very worried (and terrified to go to the restroom!)

I’ve passed many kidney stones over the last five years (I’m 18 years old, male, 5’9" 140 lbs, and otherwise healthy.) Passing kidney stones have been by far the worst experience of my life. My question now is, 1) How fast do Kidney Stones grow? It’s been a while now since I’ve passed one, does that mean that the stone is going to be bigger this time because it’s had longer to grow?

2) Is there anything I can do over the next day or so that I’m passing the stone besides taking Vicodin? The worst part of the experience by FAR is going to the restroom, knowing that I could pass the stone at any time. I’ve had at least one incidence of the stone getting stuck halfway out of my urethra. (With an unpleasant "milking" required to remove the stone.) Any tips for stone passage?

I have had light, thin brown spotting for the last three days. I am now 9 days post-ovulation, but bleeding started 6 or 7 days post-ovulation. We are TTC, but wouldn’t implantation bleeding only last a day? Not two or three?

To complicate matters, I had a kidney stone over the weekend and while the blood is not coming from my urethra (used a tampon to tell the difference, sorry …TMI, i know) could the kidney stone be messing with my hormones? Or even be related?

so when he pees, it comes out as droplets. The vet did a procedure called hydropropulsion but is now recommending surgery to remove the stones… is this SAFE? Any other suggestions for possible treatment? Thanks!

www.dissolve-kidney-stones.com Kidney stones are hard, stone-like masses that can form in one or both kidneys. Also known as nephrolithiasis, urolithiasis or renal calculi. They vary in size from as small as a grain of sand to as large as a golf ball. Kidney stones typically leave the body in the urine stream; if they grow relatively large before passing, their jagged crystalline shape can cause severe pain in the ureters and urethra.

I went to the emergency room last night and found out I had kidney stones. I have a 4mm stone.

My question is they told me to follow up with a urologist. I have no insurance. Is there really any need to follow up since I was told that it was going to have to pass anyway. It’s hard for me to afford all these medical bills. I can’t think of anything different that a urologist is going to be able to tell me.

The emergency room did a ct scan and found everything to be fine except for inflammation in the urethra and the 4mm stone. The doctor said it was small enough to pass. What is a specialist going to do differently in the follow-up? Why is noone doing anything? They keep saying that it will pass and do nothing else, but subscribe pain medication.

What are the best types of fluids I should now start drinking and Is their any comfortable position to get in during one of the pain attacks? I could not sit still. I was hurting so bad and never want to go through it again.
