my best friend has had 3 kidney stones in the past month. she was admitted to the hospital twice cuz the pain was so bad and she has only passed one of the stones. she is in severe pain and was supposed to go get a cat scan but they told her she couldnt get it done if she had her period which she got on saturday. why would her period affect the xray?

she is 20 years old and is lactose intolerant. is there anything she can do at home to ease the pain and prevent them in the future? she has already cuz out all soda from her diet (she used to drink 2 liters a day) and tylenol doesnt help the pain..please help
could the xray be because her mom just had a total hysterctomy cuz of cancer so maybe they are screening her for it too? they didnt tell her why they just said if u have ur period we cant do it and so she called and explained and they rescheduled her.

I went to ER due to severe back pain and found out that I have a 2mm kidney stone. The Doctor told me that I can pass it out naturally in a few days. It’s been 4 days now and I am still in pain & the stone is still not out yet even though I’ve been trying to drink a lot of water everyday (at least a gallon a day). I don’t want to take too much of motrin & Tylenol for the pain but I don’t have a choice. Could someone please tell me how to pass it out quickly. Thank you very much and God bless you.
