I am 14 weeks pregnant. Have had pain in my left side since Friday, around my kidney area. I’ve already called my doctor yesterday and he didn’t do anything because I don’t have any symptoms of a kidney infection. I called back today, and waiting for them to call me back. To see if they want me to go for tests and possibly a sonogram of the kidney to check for stones. If by chance I do have a kidney stone, how is that treated during pregnancy?

About 15 years ago I had sudden, very sharp pains in my lower abdomen that never let up for 2 weeks. The pain was quite severe. I went to the hospital twice, they did a sonogram each time and found nothing. Soon after, blood and puss was all around the navel area and at that point I could no longer get out of bed. After about another 4 days, an object began coming out that appeared to be a kidney stone. It was hard and mostly white. I put it in a plastic bag and felt completely better immediately after removing it. No pain at all. I wanted to save the object to be analized but my mother insisted I take it to my quack doctor. They gave me some nonsense that it could not be identified… To this day I’d love to know exactly what happened to me… And I don’t understand how a kidney stone about a quarter inch could somehow come out of my navel??? I thought they are supposed to come out through the penis in men… Is that correct?
