I was diagnosed with a kidney stone a few days ago. I passed it yesterday afternoon, and now I have a burning sensation during urination. Is this just a residual effect from the passing of the stone or may it be something else that I should get checked out? And how long roughly does the burning generally last afterward if it’s normal?

Thank you in advance.

I just passed a kidney stone. The hospital told me I had 1 5 mml kidney stone and after I passed it, I still feel like I have pressure that I have to urinate. Is it because it stretched my urethra? or does anyone know why I still feel this way after I passed my stone. Thank you

My Mom has a kidney stone(s) right now, and last night she was on the floor screaming in pain. We don’t exactly know how big it is, but, when she passes it, I heard that it hurt so much, like child birth! I need some suggestions for main meds when she is passing it. I am looking for a medication that is very trustworthy, and takes a lot of pain out of it. Also, if you can, would you please list some things I should expect when she passes it? Thank you so much. I am praying for her…

My boyfriend went to the ER Thursday night and was passing his first kidney stone. He will be released Sunday and it is unclear as to whether he will pass it on his own or be retrieved through his urethra. We are going to France the following Sunday and I am wondering if there is anything that I can do after its passing to help him heal and be comforted (ie mint tea, herbs, anything). I will not see him until next Saturday as we are long distance, so it will have been one week after its passing.

Also, what should we expect during this period? How long is his recovery?
