My girlfriend has been in severe pain for about a week and a half. The pain first presented as a headache, upper back and shoulder pain , and a general feeling of fatigue and poor health.
This was accompanied by a severe pain and burning while urinating , and brown urine. Also nausea , vomitting and diarrhea . There was a clear , odorless vaginal discharge for 24 hours or so.
A physician found blood traces in urine, and started her on pyridium and loritab for pain relief associated with kidney stones.
The pain has now localized to her lower right abdomen , and is sharp and stabbing at times.
Tests showed stones in the LEFT kidney, but the pain is localized on the right side.
I’m worried that more than one thiong is going on here… mainly appendicitis. Her physician seems to believe she is malingering for pain pills and is not acting in what I consider a timely fashion… reschelduling treatment for 10 days later.
This could be fatal if appendix ruptures.
So my question is , could pain from left-side kidney stones be referred to the right side? Or is there something else going on here?

Thanks in advance.

25 years ago, I was victim to a bowel obstruction when I was 2 months pregnant with my first child. I also get kidney stones (yes, let’s complicate things)- On Tuesday I passed yet another stone- I went to the Dr. on Friday, and guess it was lunch time, as I felt very blown off. Told me that it may have been residual pain from the kidney stone (NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE)- There was a Student PA, who listened to my bowel sounds. It was very hard to hear the bowel sound on my right lower abdominal area. I kept telling the "Main DOC" that there was something wrong, this was not normal. I’ve been told more than once by Surgeons that I am always going to be prone to have bowel obstructions due to my history. I still am not feeling "right". I plan on going to another "DR" on Monday. I have put myself on a full liquid diet, have pain pills & phenergan as needed. Any suggestions on what symtpoms I may be having. The current ones are rt. lower abdominal pain (have appendix/gallbladder out). Thanks

I am 19 years old, for roughly the past year I have been having a lot of pain in the lower department and so 4 nights back I went to the hospital and they had told me it was a kidney stone and that I should be passing it within the next couple of days. They had prescribed me some pain meds, but luckily for me, my medical insurance ran out, so I wasn’t able to get them. Even more lucky for me, I have no types of pain pills at home, and payday isn’t for awhile. Trying to make it through this extreme amount of pain, but I don’t know how much more I can take. So my main question is, does anyone happen to know of some home remedies that helped them pass their stones? I have been going crazy on drinking water, Any help would be EXTREMELY appreciated, and thanks in advance.
I appreciate every answer given so far, their helpful, but I promised to myself Id never drink lol, but thanks in advance :)
