My grandfather is dying of severe Kidney Failure and enlarged heart. He does not want treatment. I am not Power of Attorney because he feels he looses all control, but when he passes away I am excutor etc. My question is this. I have a joint account with my grandfather on the checkings account but the savings account I am not. I am afraid that if and when my grandfather is unable to speak etc or even die, how shell I pay for his medical bills and care when all the money is in the savings? Can I have access to that by law? I WANT TO MAKE IT CLEAR I DO NOT WANT THE MONEY, I WANT TO PAY BILLS THAT HAVE ACUMULATED FROM MY GRANDFATHERS CONDITION AND CARE IN THE NURSING HOME. Please if anyone knows what I can do, I would appreciate your help. Thank you

I have a wonderful 15-year-old neutered male orange tabby named Sunshine. I love him so much. He is an indoor/outdoor cat but prefers to be outside. I noticed that he suddenly became quite thin in the spring. Our vet did a urine test and told me that he has kidney failure and the best treatment was to feed him KD food. He hated the KD food and wouldn’t eat it so I started giving him Fancy Feast soft food to put on weight this past summer. I also did this because I thought maybe the soft food was easier for him to eat. However, I observed him eat an entire adult rabbit so I realized that he could eat hard food just fine. He’s been just on Purina cat chow since August now and he seems much healthier. I also de-wormed him though since he likes to feast on things that tend to have worms (chipmunks, mice, and bunnies) so it is possible that he had worms and de-worming him made him feel much better.
How could the vet have known just from a simple 5 min. test that he kidney failure? I’m just asking because I know kidney failure is 100% fatal, correct? Maybe he doesn’t have kidney failure. Is this possible that maybe the vet just "thought" he has kidney failure because it’s so common w/ geriatric kitties? Should I spend money for further testing and what would the tests be and what might they reveal?

I was diagnosed with kidney failure like about a year ago,I’ve been under steroids and some other drug treatments since then.My dad and my two sisters are willing to donate one of their kidneys to me but for me that’s not possible cause the doctor told me kidney transplant cannot be done a illegal alien.The only way I can get a transplant its by having the money that costs to get the operation, which for me it’s a lot! My question is why exactly I cannot get a transplant for being illegal in this country?

This is a 22 years old male talking.

I have been getting little pain near my lung area. It not the kidney stone because I check with my mother. I don’t know if it the muscle or something clog in my blood stream. I took asperin last night for my headache but it didn’t remove the pain. I could try that again if it improve. The pain is between the 3 -5 on the scale of 10. Usually it get to 5 but it seem to drop down to 3-4. I was ask by my mother if I want to go to hospital. My main concern is going to hospital while being uninsured. She have some kind of plan but I don’t know.

My diet is little awkward. It not fast food everyday but it pretty much on the budget since I am on short income. I eat cereal and macroni and cheese.

I stay up to work on something and go to bed late this week. My activity is only the computer. I don’t know why but other guy my ages are working second shift on medium labour. Why me?

Any doctor or nurse want to take a break to answer someone question?
I am average far as the ratio of height to weight.
I don’t eat fast food everyday (it not like I have money to pay for those things everyday) and I don’t smoke.

I get Kidney Stones. I’m a 24 year old female. My first stone was when I was 18 years old. I believe in the left kidney, if I am remembering correctly. If anyone reading this has ever had them, then you know they’re excruciating! At that time, I had insurance (I live in the state of PA so I was covered under some PA insurance for children called CHIP.) so, I went to the local ER. Determined I had one small stone. It was a couple millimeters. They said to drink TONS of water and try to catch it, and gave me Percocet for the pain. I ended up passing the stone after about 2 days. But, was unable to catch it, so I don’t know what causes my stones. I currently have no health insurance and no money to pay for doctors and such, and visits to the ER are very expensive here.

Back in December I got the same pain I get from a Kidney Stone in my right kidney. Went to the ER, they didn’t do much for me, since I have no way to pay. They give you very minimal treatment if you can’t pay. They basically just gave me a prescription for Vicodin and 800mg of Ibuprofen tablets. I had pain off and on for about a week, eventually, it just stopped. I never did pass the stone though, I’m sure of that. Then about a week ago, I started getting really bad pain in my left kidney. So, I guess I have a new stone in there. I had some Vicodin left from December. But, I used all that. Now all I have is the Ibuprofen. It doesn’t really work. I should go to the ER when I get pain again, but I am tired of racking up huge bills that I can’t pay. Not to mention, they usually just give Vicodin for the pain (which no longer works on me) and if I ask for something else it might just look like I only want the drugs. So, I’m trying not to go to the ER unless I really have to. Thankfully, today has been pain free. I hope it stays that way. But, I’m sure I didn’t pass the stone. As far as I know, I have at least one in each kidney.

So, what I am wondering, does anyone know any real (and SAFE) natural remedies that can help break up/dissolve kidney stones? I’ve been reading up online about all this stuff, I read that Apple Cider Vinegar mixed with some warm water is supposed to help certain kinds of kidney stones. I don’t know what mine are from though or if the ACV solution will help. But, I started trying it last night. I also read Lemon Juice with Olive Oil helps, but there is no way I am trying that one. That sounds horrible. I am just barely managing the ACV. I also read Lemon Juice with water helps. I might be able to try that one. They’re the only ones I know though.

So, please, if anyone knows any other safe, natural home remedies I can try that would help break up/dissolve my stones, that’d be great. Also, for those familiar with the remedies I already mentioned, does anyone know if they’re good for all kinds of kidney stones? Or, only certain kinds? And, which kinds are these remedies good for? Sorry for this being so long and informational, I just wanted to be as specific as possible about my history in case it helps. I’m just desperate to try to get rid of these stones and get some relief. Please, honest and thoughtful answers only!
