I have a 5mm stone stuck in my ureter right above my bladder. Its been there for at least 3 months. I am trying flomax for seven days to see if it passes and will be scheduled for surgery if it doesnt. The surgery will be at least a month away because they are very backed up. I have tried to flush it out by increasing my fluid intake and it hasnt worked. Any ideas for me to try? I am miserable.. Also, has anyone had a stone removed surgically? What was the recovery like? Thanks in advance.

I am 30 weeks pregnant. I told my obgyn over a month ago that I was having severe abdominal pain under my right rib. She told me it was likely my gallbladder and to adjust my diet and follow up in 30 days. Well my pain had actually gotten worse after I changed my diet. I ended up in the urgent care where as much of an abdominal ultrasound that could be performed was. After 8 hours and a ton of blood samples accidentally from my artery none the less they were inconclusive as to where my pain was coming from because they had limited vision from my daugheters positioning. They did how ever find some "good sized" kidney stones. Now, I know that is not the pain I am suffering from, although I am anticipation the passage of those suckers any day now. I have increased my fluid intake to over 2 gallons of cranberry and water a day. Try that for a week then talk to me about being uncomfortable… The doctor did not eliminate gallbladder disease, he said I needed to see a specialist and have a more complete ultrasound performed. Little did I know, a urologist wont come near me because of my pregnancy. I am in unbelievable amounts of pain. I was told the baby is more than fine and as long as I can tolerate the pain under my ribs I will be ok. Well guess what. I cant take it anymore!!! It hurts all the time! Im scared to stretch because it kills me, I cant eat because I have no room and it causes sharp burning pains. Im scared its going to rupture. Is there anyone who knows what I can do? I appreciate consolation but I need some serious advice!!!

I’m starting to bleed pink blood again–a clear sign that I’m starting another round of kidney stones. But this time it’s from my *right* side–16 days after I had my last bout with the left.
No matter what, I’ve been keeping my fluid intake right where it’s been since mid-October: 2-3 bottles of water every day.
I know that stones form when you’re dehydrated, but why am I still getting them; even while drinking water every day?
Can my spartan diet be a contributing factor?
I’m not scared or worried, I’m extremely pissed. Usually, I get a new bout of stones once every 2-3 years, not every 2 weeks.
Ugh…

Started a little over a year ago, when I had my first kidney stone. Was ahwfuly painful and eneded up in the ER…I didnt have another one till 6 months ago. And after the first one they said it was just a fluke thing I wouldnt have anymore….but This past year I have found out that I have pcos and borderline diabetes and border like blood pressure problems, also on going fevers and skin infections, along with stomach/bowel problems. About 4 months ago I started having more kidney stones…one about every other week, some are very painful. Went to see a urologist, they told me to go on a specific diet and start taking calcium with all food I eat, cut out all meat other then chicken and fish and turkey, and up my fluid intake. They did two 24 hour urinalysis scans and they saw my calcium was low in my urine and I am only putting out half of what I should urine volume wise. But I have had atleast 6 stones in the past 4 months, and I am in the process of passing another one and I think something else needs to be done. I believe something else is going on with me and this cant be normal. Can anyone give me some insight or stories of there own? Help
