my husband went in several months ago to the ER (he was in extreme pain)for a colon issue and got a cat scan. They found no problems with his digestive system or anything in the cat scan..they told him he should see a gastroenterologist . So he did a few mths later (after insurance had kicked in) and the results oft the cat scan were faxed to the gastroenterologist(sp?) and they told my husband that the cat scan showed that he had kidney stones…
The hospital said NOTHING about kidney stones!! Isn’t it there job to tell him if something was wrong!?!
Someone said that because thats not what he went in for that they didnt HAVE to tell him about it…
The gastroenterologist said the kidney stones shouldn’t get any worse if my hubby changes his diet. so they aren’t an immediate threat. But he could have been working on fixing it MONTHS ago!!
Am I wrong…but I think they should have told him!! Can I get them in trouble for that!?! lol

I have been having left sided pain, very intense, diagnosed with kidney stone in left kidney 2 days ago. Now the pain is even worse , I can’t lift anything, not even my 5 month old without extreme pain. It feels sore inside, I can press on it and it dosen’t hurt, but it still feels sore inside, the pain gets worse than that, but I don’t understand the sore feeling, almost like something is tearing in there when I try to lift or strain. Anybody else ever experience this with a kidney stone?

Last November i went to the doctor for it got medicine for infection and it never went away i have been to three doctors all of them tell me the same thing but i am sure that that is not what it is!! i keep sharp pain in my right kidney and ovary area. i am in extreme pain . i do not know what is wrong, it doesn’t hurt unless i am relaxed and not moving. i am just trying to see what everyone else thinks it is. it has been about a year since the first time i started having the problem and the pan just wont go away. please help if u can.

I was prescribed Vicodin for pain with a kidney stone. Morphine didn’t work for me in the hospital and demerol barely worked. Does anyone know if vicodin will help with extreme pain? I just took 2 as I feel the pain coming on again.

So about 5 days ago I had extreme pain in my left side
and passed bloody urine with brown fragments.
I went to the doc. and am feeling a bit better now (normal urine, and just twinging now) but the pain has spread into my left side.
Other than blood, everything on my urinalysis came back fine.
What could it be?
