I ask this only becasue my poor sister-in-law has given birth to two boys, but has been plagued by kidney stones ever since! She has even had to have several procedures because of the stones! So, for you women who have experinced both, which pain is worse?

Just wondering if people could give me their experiences with elderly family members dying from kidney failure. My grandma is 94 and is going downhill pretty fast (long periods of unconsciousness, very low blood pressure, hallucinating). The medical staff told us her kidneys are starting to shut down. She has a living will, Do Not Resucitate order, refusing medical treatment and is in a nursing home. I just don’t want her to suffer.
She is in Minnesota and I am in Illniois with a newborn 4 wk old son. My sister did hold the phone up to her ear and I did tell her that I love her very much and I was sorry I couldn’t be with her right now. She could only respond by moaning.

My dog Spock has to eat a special Food diet, I buy Hill’s diet food, it is a very expensive diet. He has to eat this because the Vet says that he developes kidney stones. Spock already had a surgery where they took out a stone the size of a regular Cellular phone, because of what he was eating.

My question is if there is anything else I can buy him at the grocery store that he will do well on? I find myself expending a lot of money on his food and maybe I can buy something else cheaper. He is a very happy dog, I have checked his stomach and found no stones. Has any one has had any experiences like this? Thank you for your answers any little help will make me happy. Thanks!

I wonder if anyone has had that issue, where, because the kidney stone stayed too long in the kidney and/or ureter that it caused the kidney to stop functioning. My father’s doctor suspected that it’s the case, and I’m afraid that my dad will have to have it removed. Does anyone have experiences with this, and if so, how did you deal with it? What other options do you have? I tried researching online, but so far, there isn’t anything besides typical info about kidney stones. Any help’s much appreciated. Thanks.
