So I just got back from the hospital, I was pissing blood so they did a CAT scan and said I had a 3mm kidney size, which is about the size of a pea, but still… I heard that if I drink enough water or something the stone could gradually get smaller and dissolve into dust and i wont feel it coming out, but I just want to make sure, they said they’re going to give my painkillers. So I was wondering if there is any specific diet that will decrease the size of the stone. I’m supposed to be passing it sometime next week.

CAT scan showed it was almost to the bladder Sunday night & my husband is still in pretty bad pain 3 days later.

my husband went in several months ago to the ER (he was in extreme pain)for a colon issue and got a cat scan. They found no problems with his digestive system or anything in the cat scan..they told him he should see a gastroenterologist . So he did a few mths later (after insurance had kicked in) and the results oft the cat scan were faxed to the gastroenterologist(sp?) and they told my husband that the cat scan showed that he had kidney stones…
The hospital said NOTHING about kidney stones!! Isn’t it there job to tell him if something was wrong!?!
Someone said that because thats not what he went in for that they didnt HAVE to tell him about it…
The gastroenterologist said the kidney stones shouldn’t get any worse if my hubby changes his diet. so they aren’t an immediate threat. But he could have been working on fixing it MONTHS ago!!
Am I wrong…but I think they should have told him!! Can I get the in trouble for that!?! lol

For two days now I have had a dull ache in my left back area. I tried to see my doc today but she was out ill. They did run a test and it can back positive for nitrate trace blood and something call cyritan or something. Next is a CAT scan. Does this sound like stones to any of you? 36 yr old man???
