I am currently house sitting for my mom. Her cat Happy is at least 15 years old that I know of (got her as a stray). She has been Indoors ever since and has dealt with kidney problems several times. Last week she woke up and saw little spots of urine with blood in it and knew her problem was back so she took her to the vet. He gave her albon suspension to give 2 cc once daily and also crush up some vitamin C in her food. She’s taken the medicine and eaten her food every day since…but this morning I awoke to the tiny puddles of urine with blood in it again. I gave her the albon and some food but she hasn’t touched it and has barely drank any water today. A few hours ago she went up to my mom’s closest where it’s cool and she goes a lot and has been laying in there. I brought water up to her and keep checking on her but don’t know if she’s drank any. She’s alert in the face/head just not really moving her body much and purrs when I’m in there.
I’m afraid something bad is going to happen. My mom is out of town for business so I can’t get a hold of her right now…and I know that if I did she would just sit and worry until she comes home tomorrow. Happy is all she’s had since I moved out. Do you have any advice at all for me? Are there ever relapses within a treatment for kidney infections? I know people will say take her to the vet but I’m not even sure what he could do for her right now. I’ve been researching all morning on the internet and thought I’d try asking this community before I do anything.
Thanks
The vet is my plan if she doesn’t get noticeably better in a couple hours. I just thought I’d try on here first. And she is on antibiotics.

I was out of town visiting family and had to go to the hospital bc of BAD chest and back pain.I thought it was just really bad heartburn but come to find out that i have stones and my gallbladder is inflammed and i have an infection. i was hospitalized for a day with antibiotics and fluids. and then sent home. The surgeon told me to see a surgeon when i got home and that i need to stay on a low fat diet. Im home now and saw my OB for an u/s for my baby( jus found out that she has fluid in her kidneys that can possibly go away on its on but i have to see a specialist) and the doc told me no fatty food and NO dairy not even skim milk. And if i have an attack again im gonna need surgery. Im extrememly hungry and dont know what to eat. Has anyone had to go thru this b4?I dont know what veggies are okay and other things. Can someone give me a list of foods i CAN eat while also being preggers?I will see my surgeon in a couple of days but i need to know what to eat now. Thanx.

As of Thursday when my 15 year old son was urinating blood and in severe pain I took him to the doctors. They ran blood tests, urine tests, an x ray of his chest and pelvis, and did the not fun swab stick. It turns out that he has definitly a UTI and a small kidney stone that did not show up on the x-ray. He was put on a bladder analgesic, Tylonal 3, and antibiotics. Have any your men or teens ever had to through this? How long did it take for the stone to pass? How long did you urinate blood? Did the pain go away right after the kidney stone was passed or did it still last a while? What should he expect during the urination that passes the stone? I know alot of pain, but will he pass out, will he be screaming, or will it be bearable? What was your experiance like using the above questions.
I know these are personal ?’s, and your answers will help my son and I know what to expect from someone that has gone through the same thing that is around his age up to age 25. Thanks!

The vet just diagnosed my rescue chihuahua as being in the early stages of kidney disease. She give my dog 14 days worth of antibiotics, however told me to give her 7 days worth, cease for 10 days and then continue antibiotics for 7 days. Anyone understand what the 10 day period of no antibiotics in the middle of her treatment is about?
Thanks in advance for your serious answers.

My husband has been haveing terrible back pains and went to the Dr. His blood work showed very high protein in his urine. He also had a CT Scan and has either an infected cyst of an infarction on his left kidney. What does this mean as far as treatment , prognosis, in other words is he going to be ok? I am wondering why he wasn’t started on antibiotics. He has been in pain for approx. 3 weeks. He is to have a biopsy this coming week. He does have Diabetes and high blood pressure.
