My poor dog that I’ve had since I was 19 (Im currently 31) has failing kidneys. The Vet said that if she were a person she would be on dialasis. Anyhow, she is currently getting liquid treatment under her skin every day and her she is still eating, but not nearly what she used to. I have been giving her people food as she has been staying away from regular canned dog food (which she used to love). Now I give her some canned salmon, rice, carrots, sometimes a scrambelled egg or two. But what she REALLY LOVES is canned vienna sausages and hot dogs. I have been giving her alot of these just so she will take in more calories. I would put her down, alothough it breaks my heart except she is still pretty playful and happy…although not as much as she use to be. My question is what do you think about giving her hot dogs and such as primary meals?
I have been having alot of UTI’s and alot of pain in my kidneys , i drink at least 2 L of water a day.
I have just found out im pregagnet and i really want to be helathy for this baby.
Do you think i have kidney stones ? If so how would i go about getting rid of them so i am healthy for my baby.
alos went to the doc about 2 weeks ago and she gave me antibo for the kidney infection but i only took one week worth cause i thought i was preggers and i was. I dont really want to take any drugs while the baby is just growing
My back is still really sore and tight and sometimes it feels like i’m having a muscle spasm. Is this normal and how long does it usually last? I was in severe pain and ended up in the hospital and someone told me the soreness is just because that part of my body has been through alot of trauma.
I have a 8 1/2 yr old scottie. She has been diagnosed with stage 2 kidney disease recently. She has high protein and phosphorous levels. She was put on the Hills K/D and Purina NF diets, but won’t eat it now. Her vet insists that is what she should eat, but it’s getting to be a bad deal with alot of wasted expensive food and a hungry dog. I’ve tried mixing in rice, but to no avail. She also has bladder stones and is a little dehydrated. She’s on Epakitin, a phosphorous binder and high blood pressure medicine. I also give her a vitamin supplement daily. She really is in pretty good shape and loves to go on her mile a day walks, so I’m not willing to give up on her yet. Any help would be so appreciated.
