I have a 5mm stone stuck in my ureter right above my bladder. Its been there for at least 3 months. I am trying flomax for seven days to see if it passes and will be scheduled for surgery if it doesnt. The surgery will be at least a month away because they are very backed up. I have tried to flush it out by increasing my fluid intake and it hasnt worked. Any ideas for me to try? I am miserable.. Also, has anyone had a stone removed surgically? What was the recovery like? Thanks in advance.

I had 22 stones within 2 years, then they stopped for 3 years, no change in diet. Then a 7mm attempted an escape and got stuck, three weeks of pure agony. I had to have the laser and stint. I was also told there were two more (7mm in the left and a 5mm in the right) stones in my kidneys. Since none of my stone’s ever leave until they hit 5mm or greater I chose to have ESWL. I ended up in the ER after my blood pressure jumped to 189/111 and my body temp dropped to 95.2 degree’s, I was also going into shock when I woke. Now I have residual pain in my left kidney, but the real problem is my stomach…sore, swollen, pain, constipation…each day is lessening, but quite uncomfortable (day 3 now). My question is has anyone else ever had those side effects, and does it increase my chance of having those side effects again when they do the other kidney. I’m glad it was done, but I’m really rethinking having the other side done because of the other pain I’m in…Please help!

If you change you diet to low oxalate foods and drink juices high in citrate like lemon juice or lemon aid. can a kidney stone dissolve over time and just disappear? one dr. says no another says yes. who is right? i have a 5mm stone stuck in my ureter and 6 smaller ones in my kidney. The dr. wants to let it pass on its own but i don’t think its moving. it has been two weeks. pain remains in the same place. i am worried about the 6 stones that are still in the kidney. x-ray only shows one 2mm stone 4 inches above the bladder. and no ware else. ct scan dose not show any stone near bladder and one 5 mm stone 4 inched below the kidney and 6 more in the kidney itself grouped in an area a 3mm x 8mm the stones them selves are 2mm or less. i don’t have insurance and im unemployed. so i cant afford any kind of surgery. if i stick to my strict diet will stones go away or will i have to painfully pass every last one of them?

I have 3 kidney stones, but I am not passing any of them. They are size 2-3 & 5mm.
By surgery I meant URS- laser removal

I started working out and i was asked to take protein (twice of my Weight) So i started taking protein in all meals (20 Eggs + chicken) a day with (Protein & less carbs however after 1 month i replaced egg intake with whey protein 5 scoops a day which was twice of my weight) i got amazing changes in my body. However 1 day i had terrible pain in stomach consulted by Dr. and got to know i have 16 stones in and around kidney. starting from 4mm,5mm,7mm 10mm, 15 mm and so on..

I was told by the Dr it is because of taking to much of protein in your diet. However after now i have started going to gym again and i have been asked not to take protein in my meals can any one suggest me what shall i do? is there any replacement of protein which i can take for gaining muscles ???

(I have managed to get rid of 12 stones out of 16 however the remaining one are big 16 Mm these are CALICUT & OXIDE stones)
