i was diagnosed with a 3mm kidney stone in my right kidney just over 4 weeks ago. I don’t recall passing it but haven’t had any pain until today. I have a small niggling pain in my right kidney that’s annoying but not too bad that i need painkillers. Is it quite likely that i’ve passed it already and this is just a bit of residual pain? I have drunk a lot of water today so would that maybe be the cause of the pain?

I was taken into the emergency room back on May 18 and was diagnosed with a 3mm kidney stone. I have now been to the ER twice since then and the stone still hasn’t passed. I take the pills like I am supposed to and drink water. Ive been drinking liter after liter of water and still nothing. I starting to get get sick of taking these pills and drinking all this water!

last week i was taken to hospital and they said i had a kidney stone, the stone is 5mm by 3mm. i had a CT scan and the results showed that it was just about to pass into the bladder but that was 3 days ago, and i was wondering how long it will take for me to pass the kidney stone? im not currently having much pain just little bits every now and again. also is it bad for my kidneys if i don’t pass it soon? will it cause kidney failure or anything?
thankyou.

Ended up in the ER early Monday morning (today is Wednesday) with a small (2-3mm) kidney stone in my ereter. Doc prescribed some pain meds and said to drink a lot of fluids and that it should pass on it’s own within a week. I’ve been drinking water non-stop. Went to the urologist this morning and they took another x-ray but could not see the stone on the x-ray. urologist said that this was either due to the small size of it or because some stones don’t show up on x-rays but do on CT scans (taken at the ER). still have a "moderate" amount of blood in my urine, although it’s pretty clear with all the water I’m drinking. So my question is: When will I pass this stone??? if you have first-hand knowledge with small stones like this, please let me know. I would appreciate it.

April 2nd. I was in the emergency room with severe pain to only find out I had kidney stones. The large one I passed that day or afterwards little did I know. The doc gave me demeral, vicodin, and flomax and sent me home. The flomax has terrible side effects, I’m debating whether I should even take it anymore! I am still having problems with stomache cramping and gurgling and sometimes my urine is orangeish colored. I am drinking plenty of fluids like gatorade lemon juice and water. When I had my CT Scan, my big stone was no longer stuck in my ureter and had passed it. But the CT scan showed I had 2 other stones that were around 6mm previously which were shrunk down to around 2 or 3mm. I am still awaiting. How will I know if I’ve passed them for sure?
