My husband is about to have his third surgery for kidney stones. At his last surgery they removed 5 stones. He has been sober for 10 years, but previosly drank very heavily for 17 years…. could this be part of the problem?
Greetings… just curious if anyone has experience/knowledge of alternative medical treatments for kidney stones.
For the past 10 years I have been passing 3-4 stones per year and have not had any luck w/ traditional medical treatments, dietary changes, medicines, urologists, nephrologists, etc. Over the past few years the stone production has increased, despite my and my doctors’ efforts, and I am growing a bit frustrated with the same uneffective routine prescribed by most professionals.
If anyone can suggest any alternative treatments/methods I can research… it would be greatly appreciated. I am currently looking into acupuncture and have found a bit of interesting documentation.

I have been having these on and off for about 10 years and stones in the pancrea about 5 years ago but now its controlled.
I have had about 25 stones in the last 10 years so I am familiar with the routine. But this one is larger and taking more time. Other than hydration, lemon in the water and some OTC pain meds, can anyone give me any suggestions on passing the stone quicker at home?
