Cure For Kidney Stones

Any kidney stone vets out there with advice?

I have a 5mm stone stuck in my ureter right above my bladder. Its been there for at least 3 months. I am trying flomax for seven days to see if it passes and will be scheduled for surgery if it doesnt. The surgery will be at least a month away because they are very backed up. I have tried to flush it out by increasing my fluid intake and it hasnt worked. Any ideas for me to try? I am miserable.. Also, has anyone had a stone removed surgically? What was the recovery like? Thanks in advance.

someone brought up kidney stones.. how do you get those? how can you get rid of them.

and before anyone says "he should see a doctor"
no shit..we dont have the money… im trying to see if theres anything i can do from home, like have him drink water, or no salts or sugars..

i was diagnosed with a 3mm kidney stone in my right kidney just over 4 weeks ago. I don’t recall passing it but haven’t had any pain until today. I have a small niggling pain in my right kidney that’s annoying but not too bad that i need painkillers. Is it quite likely that i’ve passed it already and this is just a bit of residual pain? I have drunk a lot of water today so would that maybe be the cause of the pain?

male cat (unknown age, till recently a stray) has kidney problems- as the vet said-, his gums are also in terrible condition - i don’tt understand, they look "black".
Vet gave him medicine for one week treatment and after the week: either the treatment will save him or he will be put into sleep.

Is there anything else we can do for him?

In the medical field, especial in Ct., it is unusually difficult to be diagnosed for food allergens. Having already graduated med school, many physicians feel that they don’t need to re-educate. This is the sole reason I was left undiagnosed in thee longest recorded survived sprue, without diagnosis. While doing this I held a career in the soft field of drywall taping. The pains emanated by the sprue exceed that of passing kidney stones. I know. I was in full sprue for 22 years undiagnosed. I had every indicator and have all the records of the actual proof of sprue going back 5 years.Until last year, when an unexplained recurrence, barley devastated me financially to actually fight my way through the very simple diagnosis. Even the head of yale said he didn’t think me to be a celiac. I even fought there to have the simple blood test of the HLA DQ2 and the HLA DQ8 genetic modifier test. They even lost 2 of my 2 week times blood test. I went to a local hospital my wife worked in conjunction with, and the first time out and the first time back, my answer I had already knew was there. I was HLA DQ8 postive. The more active of the 2 modifiers in the New York area. This long term sprue left me with painful nerve damage that even the local doctors continue to deny it’s existence. They all seem to furious to even learn the things right in front of their faces. I am continuing to do drywall thanks to my own volitions. I have found the cures to the disease my own doctors almost refuse to acknowledge. I have heard med maryjane help pain and mood swing. Is this true and does high pain qualify me with my malfunction? California and even universities know of my disconfort.Do you think our government so kind is to allow the fibromialgia suffering drywaller a mean to help him make it through the day? Is the only means of relief through addictive pain medicines and mind shrinking antidepressents? Or is Montel Williams an American , where I am not?

Hi, My brother has schizophrenia and in kidney failure for 3 years now. Doctors have refused to put him on kidney transplant list saying. He will not take care of his new kidney.For reasons that he walks out of treatment at times and refuses to be treated. He also has seizures, which makes him confused. Just the other day he had several while at hospital and got up and walked out of the hospital. They just allowed him to, he fell out in the lobby. throwing up blood and all. They only talked about him being hard to deal with. I say to them he is confused seizures do that to you. dum a people. Anyway, this is out of control I need help getting him on that list. And seek damages to for my families mental distress of knowing my brother will soon die because they are refusing to add him to list. I am sure that he will die sooner than if given this chance of a new kidney. Who knows if given a new kidney he may live a long normal life. Any Lawyers reading this and willing to take on a lawsuit please contact my family. We live in Arkansas, the hospital treating him at this time is Jefferson Regional Medical Center. I feel like this is how hitler got rid of the poor people, kill off the weaker. Let the stronger live, I thought all men are suppose to be equal and have equal rights here in the USA. Will kidney stone symptoms be returning?

Today I was sitting at work when i felt a sharp pain around my kidneys in my back. I soon left for home and was in extreme pain laying down, when the pain slowly moved to my intestinal area. After about 2 hours, the pain slowly subsided. Im convinced its a kidney stone (unless it could be something else), as nausea accompanied this experience and the pain was in the right place. I didnt pass anything, so would these symptoms eventually be returning?

Canine Medical Experts: Do you agree with my vet's course of treatment?

My 5 year old rescued male shih tzu has been miserable for about 2 months now with worsening symptoms. He’s got allergies and has been generally uncomfortable. He has very poor conformation up front (legs as crooked as my vet’s ever seen) and his back is way long (like a dachsund) so he is just setup perfectly for pain!

Let me preface the treatment plan by saying, I started the meds yesterday and I’m not kidding… he made it on his walk this morning for the first time in a month. Recently he would lay down after only 1/4 mile and I’d have to carry him home.

DRUGS:
Zyrtec 5 mg twice a day
Rimadyl 25 mg twice a day
Cosequin DS 1 capsule per day

He feels that the zyrtec is very, very safe and effective for treating allergies without drowsiness. As for the Rimadyl, I’m a bit more concerned about this drug given its assoc w/ kidney problems. He said we won’t use it long term but just for now to calm things down.

Opinions?
What should I watch for as reaction to Rimadyl?
Wow, such great answers already! Just as a side note. I also switched my baby to Canidae lamb & rice formula dry food just a few days ago. I am told this is a better food, so hopefully will help him. He is my angel!

My friend got a CAT-Scan a little while ago, after being admitted to the hospital with intense stomach pains. Now they are saying that he may have a kidney stone. Which is weird. Because about three weeks ago, his father passed a kidney stone. His case was quite phenomenal because his stone was passed within 4 hours.

What do you think? Is it possible for a 20-year-old to have a kidney stone?
