Passing Kidney Stones Archives
Hi everyone, to start off, 2yrs ago i was diagnosed with a huge number of kidney stones, 8 large and small in one and upwards of 15 or more in the other, several 8mm and over which i know are huge stones.
Since passing the largest in my one kidney i have had no trouble passing any smaller besides loads of pain which iv gotten used to by now, but heres the question… I will feel the stones in my eueter, not urethra, and finally the pain will subside and ill feel them in my bladder, but when i sit down to just say relax, watch tv, use computer, eat, whatever, i feel them move up my urethra on there own, without help from urination, i know this because ive felt the sharp stab pain and found a large stone in my pee hole that wasnt there before, so how can kidney stone move on their own, through my urethra?? this happens once a week, stones ranging from 1 to 3mm each time, sometimes 2 stones like today.
I was in the ER about 72 hours ago, and they said I had a 3mm kidney stone that was just about in my bladder, as well as a UTI. They gave me a shot of Torodol for the pain, and Bactrim. When I woke up later that morning (about 9) I was able to urinate (which I hadn’t done much of for a week). The pain/spasms in my bladder and back were also improved. Now, 3 days later, I feel 90% better - but no stone in my strainer. I assumed the pain lessened because the stone went into my bladder, but will there be more pain when passing this stone? Or will I be okay from here on out? How long does it take to pass?
hi, I think I may be passing kidney stones. I didn’t think young women got them. I’m 22.
I have to per pretty often, like a bladder infection. It doesn’t hurt too much when I first start peeing but towards the end there is a very bad pain. It’s been going on for 3 days now.
So, does this sound like a kidney stone? And if so, how much longer will it take, how much worse will the pain get when I actually pass it? An finally, how common is this in women my age?

my dad has passed 10 kidney stones and with all of the recent talk about them, i was wondering what do men have to say about what it feels like to pee one out, meaning what does it feel like to pee it out? do you pee them into a strainer? does the strainer rest over the toilet, do you hold the strainer? how does the process all work?
