Can you have kidney stones without back pain?
This has all been going on about 3 months. First I was diagnosed with ibs however around the same time I developed pain in my groin and penis. At first it would be a sharp pain that made my whole body cringe. No however just the left side of my penis is very uncomfortable feeling. At times it feels like something is stuck there and at times there is a slight burning scratchy feeling that feels like something completely scratched the inside of my urethra. The first urologist said it could possible be prostatis but her didnt think so but he gave me antibiotics anyways and told me to take aleve 6 times a day. I have taken 4 weeks of antibiotics with no change in pain. I was wondering if it could possibly be a kidney stone however I havent had any sharp pains lately and no kidney pain. However I sometimes have a pain where my gallbladder is but I don’t believe gallstones could be causing my penis pain. How can I get well when the doctors keep telling me nothing wrong. I know something is.

Kidney stones don’t necessarily give you any problems when they are very small. It is when they grow bigger that you start having problems.
i would go to a different doctor. I would request specific tests, such as an xray of your kidneys to see if there are any stones. don’t feel shy about demanding answers or for them to run thorough tests. its your body, your the one experiencing pain and your the one paying for them to help you…make sure they do
I also suggest that you get a second opinion. Whenever there is pain or discomfort in our bodies it is a signal that something is wrong. Sometimes doctors are not able to diagnose the problem, but that does not mean that nothing is wrong. Three months is a long time to have pains and discomforts, if nothing is wrong.
At first it sounded like an infection, which is probably why your doctor prescribed antibiotics. Sometimes, infections may take weeks to clear up but three months is a bit long. If it is an infection, maybe the antibiotics is not strong enough.
Kidney stones is also a possibility. Many people pass kidney stones without even knowing (if they are small enough). Sometimes, stones get stuck in the urinary tract but over time they are dislodged without medical intervention. This is all speculation though. You need to go to a doctor who will take time to properly investigate and diagnose your problem. It may require ultrasound, blood test, and or x-ray.
In the interim, I will advise you to eat a balanced diet (more plant-based foods), drink lots of water, and exercise regularly. All the best to you, and God bless.
I had a kidney stone a few years ago and never had any back pain. All my pain was on the left side of my abdomen and it was severe! The stone was caught in the uterer and that was causing the severe pain. I passed it after about 5 days. I never had any penis pain either. I think I’d be looking for another doctor as you are right, something is obviously wrong. Good luck.
Hey its good to read something that seems to be genuine. Cheers, il follow.

I have the same question: kidney stone without back pain? I’ve had full-blown kidney stone problems and treatments before, so I recognize the back pain. Last night I had what seemed like inability to empty my bladder, which is one of the kidney stone symptoms, but I’d had no recent back pain. I urinated, but didn’t feel relieved. It continued until mid-morning today. Then I had the “ah-hah” when I urinated about 10 a.m. the tiny stone passed, and I’m feeling great again. So, yeah, I think the stone can get all the way to the penis without the agonizing back-pain symptoms.
