Kidney stone shockwave treatment?
I recently had surgery to laser blast 2 kidney stones and had stents inserted into my uriters. The urologist also said I had a lot of stones higher up in my kidneys he could not get to with the laser. He suggested shockwave treatment. I will find out in a few weeks at my follow up what the plans are. If I do require this method is it painful? and do they put stents in after the shocwave treatment?

The shockwave treatment is done under anesthesia. You shouldn’t feel anything. as for stents, sometimes yes, sometimes no.
