Im not a doctor, just an ordinary person.
I also have kidney stones. I have huge chunks stuck in my left kidney.
I also have smaller ones. One of them moved to my bladder and has grown to the size of a golfball. No joke. I had one surgery two weeks ago and need more surgery to remove the other half. The urologist has told me that kidney stones are a tricky unpredictable proposition. Sometimes they will pass on their own. Sometimes they will come out in your urine. Sometimes they wont and have to be surgically removed.
Sometimes they will cause agonizing pain and kidney/bladder blockages, sometimes they can go totally unnoticed. Some people get infections from them, others dont.
Every human body has a different reaction. The best and only thing you can do at this point is get yourself hooked up with a highly qualified urologist who can monitor the situation for you and will be there for you if you need any kind of treatment. A urologist is the only kind of Doctor that can handle your situation. You should drink plenty of fluids, rest when needed etc. Good luck.

In most situations if the kidney stones are not causing any problems the treatment would be exactly what you have been told. You would be monitored. Other measures might be taken if they caused problems. These links may help you.
