Kidney Stones and Alternative Medicine?
Greetings… just curious if anyone has experience/knowledge of alternative medical treatments for kidney stones.
For the past 10 years I have been passing 3-4 stones per year and have not had any luck w/ traditional medical treatments, dietary changes, medicines, urologists, nephrologists, etc. Over the past few years the stone production has increased, despite my and my doctors’ efforts, and I am growing a bit frustrated with the same uneffective routine prescribed by most professionals.
If anyone can suggest any alternative treatments/methods I can research… it would be greatly appreciated. I am currently looking into acupuncture and have found a bit of interesting documentation.

my mother used to get them pretty regular also, but now she takes medication for them, she had them blasted by the lythotriper (how ever it’s spelled), she hasn’t got them for a long time. Also stay away from cranberry juice and tea. They both contain a chemicle that helps produce them. Find an herbalist and just ask them
I have suffered from chronic kidney stones for over 25 years. Recently I finally found the underlying cause - a leaky gut (intestinal hyperpemeability) caused by undiagnosed Celiac Disease.
A leaky gut allows large amounts of oxalate to be ‘absorbed’. Oxalate drives the formation of the most common type of kidney stones - calcium oxalate stones. Celiac disease, other food allergies, use of NSAIDs (e.g. Advil, Motrin, Alleve, Naprosyn, etc.) and intestinal dysbiosis (abnormal microflora in the gut; usually a result of the use of antibiotics and/or acid-inhibiting drugs) can cause a leaky gut.
Find a competent doctor (you may need to find a good Naturopathic Physician or Doctor of Chiropractic that specializes in nutrition) to help you test for these problems.
Supplementing with calcium (it binds and blocks the absorption of oxalates), magnesium, and vitamin B6 may also reduce the risk of stone formation. Note: for a long time docs recommended limiting calcium intake in stone formers; however, a large body of scientific evidence now shows that calcium supplementation is the proper ‘treatment’ for reducing stone formation.

i am not sure on the spelling of this profession but i once went and saw a kinistesilogist (he is an alternative to a chiropractor), i Had kidney stones and he gave me the following remedy . In one hours time i Had to eat 1 pound of asparagus, and drink a six pack of regular coke classic all in a hour. sounds funny and like it wont work well i thought the same and it does work i was told the coke breaks up the stones and the asparagus flushes it out and cleanses. I had stones about 3 years later and tried the same remedy and it really does work. takes about three days to really notice a huge change.

My husband and I live in a dry environment and as we age we sometimes get kidney pains and pain when urinating that tell us we need to flush the kidneys and bladder.

A few days drinking a tablespoon in 8 ounces of water clears the plumbing out well enough.
I searched a little and found out that both apple cider and vinegar are recommended as low oxalate foods to be enjoyed as often as wanted by patients with this trouble.
