I believe the only way to do it is through a medical procedure where they shatter them with sound waves.

I too would do anything to get mine dissolved, but I never heard that such a thing was possible. I'm glad you asked this just in case someone else has heard of it. Over the years I have passed several small ones, but two years ago I had to have a really big one pulverized. That was miserable and expensive. I sympathize with you, but...

They use a something that looks like a laser pointer almost that is attatched to a machine and put the pointer on your back over your kidneys. I believe it is something along the lines of sound waves that cause them to burst, but the procedure is painless, and makes the extremely tiny bits easier to pass, and much less painful.
And no you won't find anything over the counter for kidney stones unfortunately. However you may want to look into natural herb remedies that may help. Ask a pharmacist if there is something.

Kidney Stone Flush - Fast

1/4 cup lemon juice (fresh squeezed is best) every 2 hours for 3 days. On the odd hours you can have warm water, or "one kind" of juice. No Food.

At the end of the third day be all ready for bed. Take 1/3 cup of castor oil or cod liver oil and 2 oz. of lemon juice. Drink that and get into bed and stay there. Make sure you don't get up for at least 20 to 30 minutes, or you will get sick.

The following kidney stone removal procedure has been used by many people with good results (disappearance of pain in a few days). It involves drinking a tea made from 3 different herbs: Gold Coin Grass (GCG), corn silk and Eucommia. These herbs are mixed together and boiled in water for about 20 minutes. About 4-5 cups are needed daily, taken before meals or bedtime on empty stomach. Both Gold Coin Grass (GCG) and corn silk are kidney cleansers and diuretics which may deplete the body of potassium. Therefore it is recommended that potassium supplement be taken to replenish the loss. The Chinese herb Eucommia increases energy flow in the kidneys and is complementary to Gold Coin Grass (GCG) and corn silk because anyone with kidney stones or sludges has sluggish kidneys.

An important note to anyone with kidney stones is to avoid cold foods or drinks. Cold drinks chill your internal organs and weaken them, especially the kidneys and spleen. Many of my clients told me that they can feel the chilling effect from cold drinks after several months of not having them. Foods that weaken the kidneys should also be avoided. They include all citrus fruits, tomato and banana.

Can't be done. There is nothing that will DISSOLVE kidney stones per se. There's ESWL, shock wave therapy. That breaks them up into small, more manageable pieces.

Any product that claims to dissolve them is outright lying. I believe Uriflow makes this claim, and perhaps Kidney Dr., two products which I investigated (and which are extremely pricy).

The most important thing for you to do is DRINK. It doesn't matter if it's cold, it doesn't matter what it is. Water is best but any mass quantity of liquid will help you to pass the stone. And keep it up - it may help you prevent forming new stones.

There are herbal remedies which may help avoid future stones....there are actually quite a number of herbs which are used for urinary/kidney health. I'm currently investigating these myself and will quite possibly try some.

You're better off just doing whatever your doctor recommends, whether that be trying to pass it naturally or having some procedure done.

I guess I'm kind of lucky - Rocky is only 2mm and he's currently standing on the diving board (lower ureter)- just about ready to jump into the swimming pool (bladder). No medical procedures for me - just lots of water.
