    Aaron,
As you do not give a reason for the examination that found the details that you quote, it is not possible to estimate if you may or may not require any treatment. A malrotated kidney is one that faces the wrong direction but still functions properly. An ectopic kidney is a birth defect in which a kidney is located in an abnormal position. In most cases, people with an ectopic kidney have no complaints. In other cases, the ectopic kidney may create urinary problems, such as urine blockage, infection, or urinary stones. The kidneys filter waste materials and excess fluid from the blood and also produce hormones that are important for blood formation, blood pressure, and bone formation. Entering the kidneys through the renal artery, blood is processed in tiny tubes called nephrons and returned to circulation through the renal veins. The waste substances that are filtered out are turned into urine, which collects in the central part of the kidney (called the renal pelvis) and passes through the ureters to the bladder. When a half pint or more of urine has collected in the bladder, it is emptied from the body through the urethra. Unless you are presenting with any related problems from these findings, it is likely that there is no treatment necessary. You need to consult your urologist/doctor and request details of the findings and any requisite treatment or procedure that would be recommended.
