You can increase fluid intake which will help the stones pass by feeding him canned food (please follow the diet as the vet suggests) or pouring the liquid from the canned meal into the water to flavor it, as a result making your cat drink more water because of the taste. There is a litter additive that detects any blood when your cat goes in his box, this will help you and your vet judge his recovery/health status. You can only get this from your vet. I know how you feel, He was in such pain before he passed the crystals. He is great now and he is 12 years old. It is CD for life I guess.
