What do kidney stones feel like?

I have a cold and every time I cough a pain shoots through what feels like my bladder, it hurts so bad I want to cry. I’m going to make a doctor appointment but just an idea of what to expect would help,

Please, it’s really painful and I’m scared.

Kidney stones cause severe pain, often associated with vomiting and most people end up in an ER because the pain is so severe. Coughing can strain muscles and can make pain radiate to other parts of your body. Taking some over the counter ibuprofen regularly can help with this and also taking an over the counter cough medication so that you are not coughing so much will also help. Increase your daily water intake, rest as much as possible and run a humidifier in the bedroom where you sleep will help with your symptoms. This should go away as your body heals itself over the next week.

Burning, all-consuming pain. How bad the pain depends on where the stone is, and how large. Even walking can prove impossible if bad enough, and fever can ensue.

they’ll probably do an ultrasound of it..then you’ll probably have surgery to have them removed…
