left kidney hurts, infection or kidney stone?
around 2-3 weeks ago i started feeling some pain where my left kidney is located, didn’t think much about it then, thought it could be a strained muscle or something like that, so i ignored it.
About a week ago the pain got worse, and now its constantly hurting, i really dont know how to explain it more detailed, i have never had a kidney stone before.
I looked around a bit and read that drinking water and tranberry juice could get rid of the infection and/or help getting out the kidney stone, but since its already been going on for weeks, should i go and see a doctor now or try drinking lots of tranberry juice and water for a couple of days?

I would make an appointment and get a urine test done asap. This will tell you if it is an infection or if you have blood in your urine. Do what you said you are doing as well with the fluids and cranberry juice.
My first kidney stone was just an annoying ache in my lower back and then after a few weeks of it…BAM badddddd pain! It was a kidney stone. I ignored just like you. Speaking from experience….go get it checked out today. You may need an antibiotic or a ultrasound of the kidney to see if it is a stone.
if i were i would go to the docter cuz it could be worse than u think not to scare you but ya…
See a doctor, preferably a urologist. I doubt it’s a kidney stone because when I had one, the pain was so intense I was doubled over and throwing up. But it could be a kidney infection.
sounds like a kidney stone or you pulled a muscle in your back. sometimes blood will be in your urine if it’s a kidney stone. drinking lots of fluids will sometime help you pass a kidney stone if it’s small enough. about the only way to know for sure is an ivp done in xray or a ct scan. check these web site http://www.medicinenet.com/kidney_stone/article.htm
Hey first of all go for a renal DTPA scan. By this u will come to know about function of your kidneys ie. how much it is working. Also get an ultrasound test done as soon as possible coz it will measure if any structural damage is there or not. I think your left kidney got shrunked, as the symptoms u ve mentioned above reveals that only. consult a good urologist and get the treatments done before its too late and also hav a look at your blood creatinine level and eat less proteins.
