How severe can kidney stones be?
Please help me out.I think my husband may be trying to pass a kidney stone.I was wondering if it can be caused by a severe back injury.

It can’t be caused by a back injury. I’ve had three. Although it feels like your going to die, the majority of times it passes no problem. The emergency ward will give him serious pain meds and check his urine chemistry and check for blood. After it passes from the kidney to the bladder, most of the pain is gone. If it’s small enough he’ll pee it out through a strainer. If it’s big, they’ll use ultrasound and/or meds to dissolve it.
The pain is like a hot dagger in your lower gut. It’s rare to find a comfortable position. It peaks and drops whenever the stone moves. Do a google on kidney stones- there’s tons of info.
It can b fatal in Final Stages
