My cat is having problems with urinating, and is severely disgruntled.?
Teeco is a 4 year old fat cat, he has had a problem all day trying to urinate. He is very upset and hiding in a corner. He spent about an hour in the catbox trying to go pee, and only a few drops came out. He is eating. Is there an Over the Counter cure? Kidney Stones?
He is a really neat cat, and I hate to see him suffer.
Thank you in advance for your help.

I had this happen. my cat Charlie had crystals built up in his bladder and in his urethra that blocked him from peeing. take him to the vet asap he could end up suffering and dying id you don’t. Charlie had to take sedatives to relax his bladder as well as antibiotics. i had to feed him vet presciption food for about a month. now i feed 9lives urinary tract formula. have never had a prob since. I believe it had to do with the food i had been feeding him. may also have to dp with the pet food crisis
This is an emergency!!!
Take him immediately to Vet or 24/7 clinic.
He has FUS and IS in horrid pain. Crystals in urine, unable to pain,.. will back up and die of toxic uremia.
Pls. help him.
Now GO.
Gd. luck.
You MUST get him to a vet. It sounds like a bladdar infection which will KILL him if he’s not treated. He’s suffering right now.
Teeco may have a obstructed urethra. This is an emergency!!!!! Call a veterinarian immediately.
thanks for paying attention. There is pain, possible rupture of the bladder, kidney stones are agony. There are free or low cost vets at your animal shelter. Please help your cat ASAP. It may only require a little help fro m your vet and then a change in diet. Male cats ften have trouble, sometime after the vet diagnoses kitty, a simple diet (different brand of dry food) will remedy. I know of no home treatment. Poor kitty.
Hi I have not been on yahoo in a while but I noticed your question right away you need to bring your cat to the vet asap he is probably in alot of pain and has a urinary infection or a bladder infection there is nothing over the counter but after the vet gives him some antibiotics there is food and additives to put in his food so it will e less likly to happen again he will probablly get them all the time now that he has had one so if this is it you need to try to prevent them from happening they can be deadly so please bring him to the doctor
there is nothing over the counter you can give the poor cat probably has fus (feline urological syndrome) or more commonly called a blocked cat, very common in males, you need to take him to the vet asap!
Hate to see him suffer? Take him to a Vet….
i noticed a behavior change in my 10 yr old male cat followed by long periods of him trying yo relieve himself. you need to get to the vet directly. it is probably crystals which form. it is painful and if left untreated your pet will wind up with a blockage which will kill him. for me, medication was prescribed along with a prescription food and after 6 days i am very grateful that he is improving. think of crystals as tiny shards of glass which your cat is trying to urinate out. good luck
Male cats are prone to crystals forming in the urine which can not be expressed through the urethra in the penis. This blocks the flow of urine – the cat knows he has to go, but can’t. He has to get to the vet asap. A urinary blockage left untreated will eventually kill him, he will poison himself because he can’t urinate. If you haven’t already, get him to the vet now (a 24 hour emergency is advised if it’s too late for your regular vet). This isn’t something to wait on or to see if it "clears up". It won’t. Vet…NOW.
If your cat is only able to dribble out a little bit of urine there is a blockage.
Soon the dribbling will stop and your cats system will go into shock if you don’t get him veterinary attention right now.
This is not something that can wait until morning.
There is no over the counter home remedy.
This is a life threatening event
Your can’t is in absolute pain.
Could you fathom the agony the big guy is feeling.
That is why he is so disgruntled.
A vet will be able to unplug the blockage by passing a catheter.
Intravenous fluids, antibiotics and pain medicine is the typical therapy to recover the kidneys after blockage.
I am telling you as a veterinary nurse your pet needs medical atttention right now.
The longer you wait the progression of illness will become obvious and you don’t want to put your cat through that.
The sooner the cat gets to the vet the less pain he will be in and the less cost it will be to you.
Take your cat to the vet IMMEDIATELY..sounds like he has a blockage…he could be dead within 24 hours if you don’t get him medical attention. This is a very serious, potentially fatal problem….get off the computer and get him to a vet now..if they are closed..find an emergency 24 hour vet. Your cats life depends on it.
Oh please please please take your kitty to the vet right away! A blocked bladder can be life threatening, not to mention very painful!
The blockage is likely due to crystals in the urine. They form due to a metabolic disorder. It can be controlled with a prescription food, distilled water, and sometimes other medications.
There is NO over the counter treatment for this and your cat can DIE. Please go to the vet ASAP!
Sounds like a urinary tract infection that turned into a blockage. He can’t because his bladder is blocked. This needs immediate attention. The cat can die from this, so I wouldn’t wait.
He is blocked and you MUST get him to an emergency vet asap.
This is not a joke. If you do not get your cat to a vet it will die.
Go NOW!!!!
